Opened in 2006, Musicbox is one of the most acclaimed live music venues in Lisbon. Hosting around 200 concerts and 250 clubbing nights a year, Musicbox is a cross between a performing stage and a dance floor. Located in a converted 19th-century warehouse, the original cobblestone walls and the over-arching ceiling lend the place a deep, cavernous feel highlighted by the state-of-the-art sound system and lighting. Our programmatic concept is based on an independent and eclectic programming, showcasing relevant national and international artists, boosting new projects and always following new trends.
With the venue holding a large number of concerts while constantly providing a space for a variety of other events, our overall program echoes CTL’s interdisciplinary approach to the arts, media and culture resulting in a wide range of events that include and combine music, performance art, spoken word, installation art and cinema.
Besides our own creations and productions, CTL relies on a network of partners to co-produce a large amount of projects and events throughout the year. Over the years, we have built on people’s existing skills to promote mutuality and reciprocity, so as to develop peer support networks that allow us to move towards reaching our goals. From concert to clubbing and multidisciplinary activities, every year we co-produce an average of 350 projects and events.
